I am an (almost) Colorado native. I was born and adopted from Seoul, South Korea, and have been residing in Colorado since I was four months old. My family is an incredible part of who I am and the person I am today. My family is also full of amazing love stories, as both sets of my grandparents were married for over 65 years. Because I’ve always been surrounded with these incredible examples of genuine connection and lifelong commitment, flipping through their old photo albums is one of my favorite things to do.
I’ve been a photographer for over twelve years, originally starting with a kit lens set taking creative shots of my friends. While always having a love for photography, I always considered myself an artist in different mediums like charcoal or colored pastels. This has definitely found it’s way into my photography style now, seeing my work in an artistic light.

Soooo....why photography?
My “why” behind my love for photography is a simple and personal reason that I think beautifully resonates with a lot of people. My grandpa, Harvey H Hoffman, came from a simple family and upbringing in Kansas. He traveled the world as a part of the US military and then married my grandma soon after returning home. While he traveled abroad and on personal adventures with my grandma, he had a love of photography and an incredible collection of film cameras.
When I showed an interest in photography as a teenager, he excitedly got out his old film cameras and gifted them to me to learn and use. At the moment, I did not realize how important those would become and inspire me in my career.
After he passed, I was sorting through a huge photo pile of all of his old film prints. I got to see his travels and see my grandma at a young age. I got to see parts of their marriage early on and put real images to the stories he would tell me.
My “why” in photography has become encapsulating moments of the people you love: normal and mundane moments and big life moments. As time goes on and changes occur, these photos will tell your story beyond your lifetime. A huge piece of my brand is dedicated to my grandpa for fueling my love of photos and film. The cosmos flower in my logo is the birth flower of October, the birth month of Harvey H Hoffman. Thank you for letting me share a little piece of his story and a huge part in mine.
